Testia has announced the successful award of a major contract from Airbus Helicopters, strengthening its role as an international provider of non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection services across key aerospace manufacturing and maintenance locations.
Building on successful inspection projects carried out since 2019, the new contract expands Testia’s operational activities across France, Germany, and Spain, with teams supporting Airbus Helicopters’ requirements for advanced inspection, manufacturing support, and structural integrity assessment.
In France, Testia teams based in Paris will continue to perform critical inspections of composite components using advanced NDT methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Computed Tomography (CT), and Infrared Thermography Testing (IRT).
Operations in Marignane will support Final Assembly Line (FAL) activities, helicopter critical parts manufacturing, and maintenance operations. The inspection scope includes Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and immersion ultrasonic testing for critical transmission tube components.
In Germany, Testia’s Friedberg operations will focus on inspecting high-performance carbon fibre composite structures for Airbus helicopter programmes, including the Airbus H135, H145, H160, and NH90. The activities include Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on thousands of structural components annually, covering areas such as cockpits, cabin sections, tail structures, aft structures, internal frames, and cabin roofs.
At its facility located at the Airbus site in Ottobrunn, Testia will provide specialized Computed Tomography (CT) inspection services for components such as latch shafts and drive shafts, ensuring detailed evaluations aligned with aerospace inspection requirements.
In Spain, Testia will continue supporting Airbus Helicopters’ Albacete plant across manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities, and Level 3 technical services. The support includes NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Magnetic Testing (MT) across helicopter programmes including the Airbus NH90, H125, H135, and H145.
The expanded collaboration highlights Testia’s capabilities in delivering comprehensive NDT solutions for aerospace applications, combining inspection expertise, advanced technologies, and technical support across multiple international locations.
