Surya Prakash Gajjala to Lead ISNT Hyderabad

Hyderabad Chapter of the Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ISNT) has named industrialist and entrepreneur Mr. Surya Prakash Gajjala as its new Chairman for the 2025–26 term. Mr. Gajjala, CEO of Archimedes Green Energy Pvt Ltd, becomes only the second leader from private industry to helm the chapter, traditionally led by figures from government research establishments.

He formally took charge during a ceremonial meeting held at Gurukul, NFC Campus, ECIL, succeeding outgoing chairman Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Managing Director of Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC).

An acclaimed entrepreneur, Mr. Surya Prakash is recognized for pioneering India’s first rooftop wind turbine for green energy and is a recipient of the MSME National Award by the Government of India.

The installation ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Dr. Jaiteerth Raghavendra Joshi, Director General of BrahMos and National President-Elect of ISNT, and Dr. Narayanamurthy, Chairman and Managing Director of Midhani.

New Leadership Team

The newly appointed executive team reflects a mix of senior scientific leaders and private-sector professionals. Key members include:

  • Mr. Atul Khanna, Managing Director, Horizon – Treasurer

Vision for ISNT Hyderabad: A Model Chapter for NDE 4.0

In his acceptance address, Mr. Surya Prakash laid out a bold, future-focused vision to transform Hyderabad into a model hub for NDE 4.0, the next frontier in Non-Destructive Evaluation.

“ISNT must evolve from a society of specialists into a force of influence. Our strength lies not just in machines or methods—but in people,” he said.

His three-pronged strategy includes:

  • Establishing an NDE 4.0 Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, leveraging local startups and industries.
    • “From AI-assisted inspections to predictive maintenance, let Hyderabad become the testbed for digital transformation in NDT,” he stated.
  • Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration, with plans to:
    • Launch or grow student chapters
    • Provide expert lectures at engineering colleges
    • Create internship pipelines
      • “We aim to shape not just the future of NDT, but also the professionals who will define it.”
  • Building a Vibrant Community of Practice, via monthly mentorship and knowledge-sharing sessions:
    • “Let ISNT Hyderabad be a vibrant, inclusive professional home. Let it not just inspect defects — but shape directions.”

With over 5,000 professionals across India, ISNT plays a crucial role in advancing the science and applications of NDT across industries. Under Surya Prakash’s leadership, the Hyderabad chapter is poised to play a national leadership role in innovation, talent development, and digital transformation in this sector.
