Sandvik has completed its acquisition of Verisurf Software Inc., a prominent US-based developer of 3D metrology software widely used in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), inspection, and quality control processes. The move is part of Sandvik’s strategic expansion into digital and intelligent manufacturing, and marks a significant step in its efforts to provide advanced NDT and precision measurement solutions globally.
Verisurf, headquartered in Anaheim, California, has a workforce of 44 and reported revenues of approximately SEK 130 million (USD 12 million) in 2024. The company will continue to operate independently as a dedicated business unit under Sandvik’s Machining and Manufacturing Solutions division.
A long-time leader in model-based inspection, reverse engineering, and automated NDT workflows, Verisurf’s solutions are known for their compatibility with a wide range of portable and fixed CMMs, scanners, and robotic systems. This acquisition is expected to enhance Sandvik’s position in offering integrated NDT tools that support real-time, data-driven quality assurance—an increasingly critical requirement in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and precision engineering.
Ernie Husted, Founder and President of Verisurf, will continue to lead the business to ensure a seamless integration and maintain the company’s technical vision and customer focus.
