In a move that underscores its growing influence in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and pipeline integrity management, PROtect, LLC, a U.S. leader in safety, reliability, and compliance services, has announced the acquisition of Trident Pipeline Integrity, LLC (TPI).
The strategic acquisition expands PROtect’s nationwide Pipeline Integrity (PLI) program—adding Trident’s proven field experience, leadership, and specialized NDT capabilities. With 18 offices across the United States, PROtect continues to strengthen its position as a trusted technical partner for the refining, petrochemical, renewable fuels, and energy infrastructure industries.
For more than a decade, PROtect’s Pipeline Integrity department has been at the forefront of ultrasonic inspection, corrosion mapping, and pipeline safety programs, delivering industry-leading precision and reliability. The integration of Trident’s expertise enhances this foundation by adding a strong regional presence and technical depth in advanced NDT inspection and evaluation.
“PROtect's Pipeline Integrity team has already set the standard for reliability and technical performance across the U.S.,” said Nathan VanderGriend, CEO of PROtect. “By integrating Trident's innovation and regional expertise with our national platform, we're extending that success and creating even more value for our clients.”
Founded by John Clark and Joey Clairday, Trident Pipeline Integrity has earned a reputation for quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and a deep commitment to safety. Its team of skilled NDT professionals brings a wealth of field knowledge in ultrasonic testing (UT), corrosion detection, and pipeline inspection technologies, all of which directly align with PROtect’s operational priorities.
“When John and I started Trident Pipeline Integrity, selling the company was never part of our plan,” said Joey Clairday, Co-Owner of Trident. “But after meeting with PROtect's leadership, it became clear how closely aligned our values and approach were. We see this as a strategic partnership that allows us to better serve our clients while building on our commitment to safety and quality. We are excited to join the PROtect family and look forward to our future together in the oil and gas industry.”
“The foundations already in place at PROtect are ideal for Trident's continued growth,” added John Clark, Co-Owner of Trident. “Our team is eager to expand our reach to new clients and contribute our experience to make Trident and PROtect together the premier NDE partner in the industry. We've always prided ourselves on delivering accurate assessments the right way, and this partnership ensures we can continue doing that at an even greater scale.”
The acquisition deepens PROtect’s technical capabilities in Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) and strengthens its ability to provide end-to-end inspection services that ensure pipeline safety, operational integrity, and regulatory compliance. Trident’s Oklahoma-based operations complement PROtect’s existing footprint, enhancing response times and extending service coverage across key industrial regions.
With this move, PROtect is reinforcing its long-term vision of being a national leader in advanced NDT and pipeline integrity solutions, combining innovation, field expertise, and a people-first approach to safety and quality.
