ASTM International’s Plastic Piping Systems Committee (F17) has presented the Frank W. Reinhart and Henry "Butch" Kuhlman Award to Sarah Patterson, CEO and owner of PATTS., LLC, in recognition of her significant contributions to the standardization of plastic piping systems.
The award pays tribute to individuals who have made sustained and exemplary contributions to the field, following in the footsteps of F17 charter members Frank W. Reinhart and Henry W. Kuhlman.
Patterson has built a distinguished career in the plastic pipes and fittings sector, with a strong focus on engineering, manufacturing, new business development, and instructional design. She has actively contributed to multiple industry organizations, including the American Gas Association (AGA), NSF Plastics Industry Forum and JV Committee, and ASME.
A member of ASTM International since 2009, Patterson has previously received the ASTM E07 Nondestructive Testing Committee’s 10-Year Service Recognition Award (2025) and three F17 Awards of Appreciation in 2016, 2021, and 2022.
Patterson holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University, earned in 2000.
This latest recognition further cements her legacy as a driving force behind advancements in plastic piping system standards and engineering excellence.
