Novosound Announces Exciting Partnership with Baylor College of Medicine

Novosound, a Scottish ultrasound company, is collaborating with a Texas medical school to propel its global expansion efforts. Situated just east of Glasgow in North Lanarkshire, Novosound is at the forefront of wireless ultrasound technological innovation. The newly established collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, signifies a significant stride for Novosound into the North American market.

Dr. Todd Rosengart, a cardiovascular surgeon, vice president, and DeBakey Bard chair of surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, expressed his admiration for Novosound's technology. "We believe it will save lives and could indeed become the next vital sign monitor," he stated.

According to Crunchbase, since its inception in 2018, Novosound has secured nearly £10 million in funding from various investors, including Par Equity, EOS Technology Investment Syndicate, Scottish Enterprise, the European Regional Development Fund, Foresight Group, and others. The recent funding injection aims to fortify Novosound's presence in North America. In the previous year, the company partnered with PAVmed, a Nasdaq-listed medical technology firm, to advance its intravascular imaging technology and further its expansion in North America.

"We're making remarkable progress in the US," noted Novosound CEO and co-founder Dave Hughes. The company specialises in developing highly customizable and scalable ultrasound solutions for diverse sectors, including wearable technology, renewables, energy, and industrial monitoring. "We're observing that our R&D partnerships are consistently transitioning into commercial agreements, and we anticipate announcing several of these in 2024, particularly in the States," Hughes remarked regarding the company's latest collaboration. "On the financial front, this translates to doubling our revenue for the fourth consecutive year while also enhancing our team's expertise," he added.

All these developments follow Novosound's recent strengthening of its leadership team by appointing former Intel executive David Jolliffe as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in May of this year.
