Motive Offshore Group has expanded its footprint in Norway’s offshore energy sector through the acquisition of Weld Integrity Group, a specialist in inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT). The move significantly enhances Motive’s Certification & Inspection (C&I) division, integrating Weld Integrity’s expertise and workforce into its growing service offering.
The acquisition brings advanced NDT capabilities, including radiographic and X-ray inspection, enabling Motive to deliver broader, non-intrusive infrastructure assessments for offshore operators. The deal also adds 20 experienced inspectors to Motive’s team, strengthening capabilities across oil and gas, civil construction, and aerospace sectors.
Max Brown, founder and CEO of Weld Integrity Group, will assume the role of Regional Manager for Scandinavia. “There are natural synergies between our businesses and many opportunities for combining our services. This will enable us to tap into Motive’s international customer base across the offshore energy market, as well as offering Motive’s wider services to our current customers across Norway’s commercial and industrial sectors,” he said.

The acquisition aligns with Motive’s strategic diversification plan, targeting 75% of revenue from non-oil and gas sectors by 2026, while consolidating its presence in key international markets.
