Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) has officially completed its acquisition of Evident’s Inspection Technologies division, formerly part of the Scientific Solutions Division of Olympus Corporation. The move significantly strengthens Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence business, enhancing its capabilities in non-destructive testing (NDT), remote visual inspection, and analytical instruments across mission-critical sectors.
The acquisition brings to Wabtec a portfolio of industry-leading inspection technologies that will drive improvements in customer productivity, reliability, and safety—while also positioning the company for accelerated and profitable growth in a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.

The acquisition marks a pivotal step in Wabtec’s strategy to expand its total addressable market (TAM), which now grows from approximately $8 billion to $16 billion. By integrating Evident’s inspection technologies, Wabtec not only diversifies its offerings but also significantly scales its recurring high-margin revenue base, particularly in advanced diagnostics and predictive maintenance solutions.
