Dexon Technology has secured the Stock Exchange of Thailand’s (SET) Best Innovative Company Award for the third consecutive year, with its latest ultrasonic inspection breakthrough—the UT-WC Viper—earning top recognition for advances in downhole integrity assessment. The company was also granted SET’s distinction for Excellence as an Innovative Company 2023–2025, highlighting its sustained contributions to the inspection and NDT sector.

Well casings are critical safety barriers in oil and gas operations, preventing blowouts, isolating zones, and protecting groundwater. Their degradation through corrosion, pressure cycles, or mechanical stress poses significant operational risks, and inspecting them remains a persistent challenge due to fluctuating internal diameters, complex downhole environments, and demanding turnaround schedules.

Dexon’s UT-WC Viper has been developed to overcome these limitations through next-generation ultrasonic capabilities. The system delivers high-resolution 360° inspection using multi-channel transducers, provides rapid field reporting within two hours and final reports in 24–72 hours, and offers versatile deployment across wireline, slickline, or coiled tubing. Purpose-built centering and coupling technology ensures reliable data acquisition even in casing strings with irregular internal diameters.

The results have translated directly to field performance. In a 110-well methane project in Australia, the UT-WC Viper achieved 100% data coverage with zero NPT, enabling casing integrity verification during planned remedial work without adding operational downtime.

Industry observers note that such advancements underscore the increasing role of ultrasonic inspection in subsurface safety management. With operators under heightened pressure to reduce non-productive time, improve environmental protection, and strengthen risk-based maintenance, high-fidelity well-casing NDT tools are emerging as a critical pillar of asset integrity.

Dexon said the SET recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to raising inspection standards and supporting operators with technologies purpose-built for complex downhole conditions. The company also extended gratitude to its customers for the continued trust placed in its inspection solutions.
