Dexon Technology has announced the launch of its latest generation of Ultrasonic Crack Detection (UT-CD) tools, designed to deliver higher precision, navigability, and reliability in pipeline inspection. The new UT-CD Hawk represents a significant advancement in nondestructive testing (NDT), combining enhanced resolution with robust engineering to support critical infrastructure integrity.
The upgraded UT-CD Hawk integrates nearly 500 transducers, providing 1.1 mm circumferential and 1.0 mm axial resolution, enabling operators to detect even the smallest cracks with accuracy. Engineered for real-world conditions, the tool is 1.5D bend navigable and compatible with the full range of pipe schedules, expanding its applicability across diverse pipeline systems.
Reliability has been further strengthened through a simplified electronics architecture, reducing complexity and enhancing operational durability. In addition, the system offers flexible configurations, allowing operators to add metal loss inspection capabilities to the crack detection platform for comprehensive asset evaluation.
Dexon’s latest innovation underscores the growing role of advanced ultrasonic inspection in ensuring safety, extending asset life, and optimizing maintenance planning. With the launch of this tool, the company continues to reinforce its position as a leading provider of next-generation NDT solutions for pipeline integrity management.
