Annabel Sabit, an ASNT and EN4179 Level III professional and NDT Subject Matter Expert at MOOG Controls Corporation Philippines, has returned to the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) RISE Leadership Development Program as a facilitator, following her own participation in the programme.

The RISE Leadership Development Program is designed to support emerging NDT professionals through leadership development, professional skills training, mentorship and engagement with the wider NDT community. ASNT’s 2026–2027 RISE cohort includes 20 participants from 11 countries.

Sabit brings more than 18 years of experience in the aerospace industry to her role. She was the seventh ASNT-certified professional and the second woman to earn ASNT certification in the Philippines.

Her professional background includes work as an NDT Subject Matter Expert, alongside ASNT and EN4179 Level III qualifications. Through her return to the RISE programme as a facilitator, Sabit is contributing to the development of emerging professionals in the NDT sector.

As part of the programme, RISE participants engage in leadership training, professional development activities, industry events and mentorship. ASNT states that the programme is intended to equip early-career NDT professionals with leadership skills and connections to support their development within the profession.

Sabit has also highlighted the broader responsibility associated with NDT and its role in safety and integrity.

“NDT professionals are like doctors, protecting lives by ensuring the safety and integrity of the world around us.”

The 2026–2027 RISE programme follows ASNT’s continued focus on developing the next generation of NDT leaders. Participants are expected to complete more than 60 hours of leadership training, attend two ASNT Annual Conferences and present a capstone project at the ASNT Annual Conference.

Through facilitators and mentors such as Sabit, the programme continues to connect technical NDT professionals with leadership development opportunities while strengthening engagement across the global NDT community.
