Airbus has partnered with Indamer Technics to launch a dedicated radome repair facility in Nagpur, marking a significant development in South Asia's aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities.
The facility is designed to provide localized maintenance for aircraft radomes, the weatherproof protective structures positioned at the nose of an aircraft to protect radar and other sensitive electronic systems. By bringing specialized radome repair capabilities to India, the initiative is expected to reduce dependence on overseas facilities and help airlines achieve faster turnaround times for aircraft requiring radome maintenance.
The facility will support radome maintenance for Airbus aircraft including the A320, A330, A350 and A380 fleets operating across the region.
Radome Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing
Radomes play an important role in protecting aircraft radar systems while allowing electromagnetic signals to pass through with minimal interference. Their structural integrity and surface condition are therefore critical to aircraft operation.
The new Nagpur facility will provide comprehensive radome maintenance capabilities, covering activities such as structural inspection, advanced paint stripping and specialized non-destructive testing (NDT).
The integration of NDT into the repair process enables technicians to assess radome structures for potential defects or damage without compromising the component. Such inspection capabilities are particularly important for identifying issues that may not be readily visible during conventional visual examination.
The availability of these specialized inspection and repair services in India is expected to reduce the need for operators to send radomes to overseas facilities, potentially lowering transportation requirements, logistics delays and associated maintenance costs.

The partnership also represents a strategic development for Adani Enterprises as it expands its presence in the aerospace and defense sector.
Adani Enterprises acquired Indamer Technics in February 2026 for an enterprise value of approximately ₹330 crore. The acquisition formed part of the group's broader strategy to expand its presence in the aerospace and defense MRO market.
Indamer Technics is a subsidiary of Horizon Aero Solutions, a joint venture between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Prime Aero. Through the business, Adani is building capabilities across the aviation support ecosystem as demand for aircraft maintenance services increases in India.
The establishment of the radome repair facility adds another specialized capability to this expanding MRO footprint, particularly in an area where structural inspection and NDT form an important part of component maintenance.
Strengthening Aerospace Inspection Capabilities
For the Indian aerospace industry, the facility represents more than an additional repair location. It contributes to the development of a localized ecosystem for specialized aircraft component inspection and maintenance.
