Arranged in the theme, Connecting minds. This year ADIPEC was dubbed Transforming Energy, as it was the final event of forty years of energy industry leadership. The event saw the largest number of 205,139 participants representing 172 countries, which marks the strength of the UAE in gathering the world community and strengthens its role as an energy, technology, and innovation hub.
The number of attendees was indicative of growth and inclusion, as the number of attendees grew by over 20,000 participants more than in the previous year.
ADIPEC Conference programme added four new streams of the conference, including the opinions of technology and AI, finance, youth, and the Global South. In 370 sessions, over 1,800 global speakers, including 40 ministers, presented the insights on the economic opportunities that cross-sector cooperation opens.
This edition was the most successful in the 40-year history of the event that enabled more than US$10 billion in cross-industry deals with the help of various strategic partnerships.
The attendees supported the call to action of His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, who urged to harness the transformative power of three significant trends: the emergence of the Global South and emerging markets, the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI), and the global energy system transformation.
Tayba Al Hashemi, ADIPEC 2024 Chair and ADNOC Offshore CEO, stated: The 40 th edition of ADIPEC has effectively drawn the top minds globally to create value and develop innovative solutions to a more sustainable energy future. With the transformative power of AI, ADIPEC has established a global platform to unlock the economic opportunities through collaboration. We intend to repeat this success in November 2
In the prelude to ADIPEC, the ENACT Majlis strengthened this theme, putting emphasis on the economic potential of cooperation and integration of energy and AI. The majlis, organized by H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, brought together 80 international leaders in the field of energy, technology, climate, and investment to discuss the opportunities in the nexus of AI-Energy-Climate.
The introduction of the AI Zone at ADIPEC further indicated the connection between energy and artificial intelligence, showing how cross-industry cooperation is essential to satisfy the growing energy demands of AI and enhance efficiency and minimize emissions.
Teamwork was also a key theme at the 16 exhibition halls of the event where more than 2200 exhibitors and 30 country pavilion were meeting to establish collaboration and strategize on how to contribute to sustainable socioeconomic development. One of the most outstanding factors was innovation, where 133 exhibitors showcased AI, digitalisation, and automation solutions that will help to hasten energy transformation.
With a message of cooperation and equal financing, His Excellency Shri Hardeep S Puri, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas in India, said: Energy is the backbone of any economy. Conversations about the Global South should take into account its realities and challenges. To facilitate transition, we should use the tools we have at hand but invest in the new solutions, making sure they complement green energy to ensure affordable fuels are available.
Another significant theme of ADIPEC 2024 was the development of new funding options to the changing energy sector, underscored by the first Finance & Investment Conference. This platform allowed the dialogue between government, financial, and energy leaders on filling the gap between the supply of capital and investments needed to create an equitable and inclusive energy ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the International Energy Forum and JOGMEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the research in carbon capture and clean hydrogen technologies.
The organiser of ADIPEC, dmg events, President, Christopher Hudson, emphasised the distinctiveness of the event in connecting the stakeholders in the energy value chain. He stated: Since start-ups to national energy companies, organisations have found ADIPEC the best platform to create partnerships and have an effective conversation that creates a real impact.
The high priority on artificial intelligence this year also contributed to the need to discuss its impact on energy system transformation and sustainable transitions acceleration more critically, as the energy environment changes quickly and ADIPEC will be one of the platforms to help navigate the changes.
At the conference, the dates of the 41st edition of ADIPEC were announced, which will take place on 3-6 November 2025. The next event will follow its legacy and will further bring the energy sector together in its quest to decarbonise, initiate the necessary dialogue and form alliances that will make the industry sustainable in the future.
