Welding Inspector

Position Summary:

Applus is currently seeking a Structural Welding Inspector for ongoing work in Moomba, South Australia. The successful applicant must be based in SA or Brisbane and have a strong background in structural welding inspection. This role requires an individual with a solid understanding of welding codes, standards, and procedures, and someone capable of ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and compliance on site. Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and evaluate structural welding work to ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and specifications.
• Ensure that all welding operations meet the required quality standards and follow established procedures.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations.
• Monitor site safety practices and ensure that all safety regulations are adhered to during welding operations.
• Work closely with welders, supervisors, and other team members to address any welding issues or defects that arise.
• Identify any welding defects or non-compliance and suggest corrective actions to improve the quality of welds.

Requirements:

• Must be based in South Australia or Brisbane.
• Proven experience as a Structural Welding Inspector, with a strong understanding of relevant welding codes and standards (AS, AWS, ISO, etc.).
• Relevant qualifications in welding inspection, such as CSWIP, ASNT, or equivalent certifications.
• In-depth knowledge of structural welding processes, materials, and inspection methods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
• Strong commitment to safety, ensuring all operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working on projects in the oil and gas sector or similar heavy industries.
• Familiarity with inspection and testing techniques such as NDT.
