Position Summary:

The Weld Quality RT Technician will be responsible for performing radiographic testing (RT) and related NDE activities within refinery and chemical plant environments. The role involves setting up, calibrating, and operating radiographic testing equipment, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, codes, and customer specifications. The technician will also play a key role in training and mentoring assistants while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct radiographic inspections in refinery or chemical plant environments using RT, Digital RT, or Computed Radiography (CR) methods.
  • Train RT assistants, operate imaging equipment, process and evaluate radiographic film in accordance with customer procedures.
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment, interpret results, and evaluate findings against applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensure thorough understanding of the scope and limitations of qualified methods and provide on-the-job training and guidance to trainees and Level I personnel.
  • Organize and document the results of all NDT tests accurately.
  • Generate, compile, and evaluate NDT data for reporting and disposition purposes.
  • Adhere to all company and client safety protocols and quality procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid TWIC Card.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Prior certification as an NDE Level II with at least one (1) year of experience, or prior certification as an NDE Level I technician with sufficient field experience to qualify for Level II in accordance with SNT-TC-1A standards.
  • Certification or qualification in one or more of the following: RT, Digital RT, or CR.
  • Valid Industrial Radiographer’s Certification Card.
  • Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course.
