Position Summary:
MISTRAS Group is seeking experienced and certified Weld Quality RT Technicians to perform radiographic inspections within refinery and chemical plant environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting NDE inspections using Radiography (RT), Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Radiography (CR), ensuring adherence to applicable codes and customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently in field-based environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic inspections (RT, DR, CR) in industrial environments such as refineries or chemical plants.
- Set up and calibrate radiographic equipment in accordance with applicable procedures and customer standards.
- Interpret and evaluate radiographic results against applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Generate and organize NDT data, evaluate results, and report findings in a clear and accurate manner.
- Train and mentor RT assistants and Level I technicians, including running and grading film based on customer-specific procedures.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety and operational protocols.
- Exercise responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of junior personnel.
- Carry out additional NDT-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid TWIC Card.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Possession of a valid Industrial Radiographer Certification Card.
- Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course.
- Prior certification as an NDE Level II technician with a minimum of one (1) year of experience, or prior Level I certification with sufficient field experience to qualify as Level II per SNT-TC-1A.
- Certification in one or more of the following methods: Radiography (RT), Digital RT, Computed Radiography (CR).
Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of NDT standards, codes, and industry practices.
- Ability to work independently in refinery or industrial plant environments.
- Capable of mentoring and training junior personnel.
- High level of attention to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
- Effective communication, organizational, and data interpretation skills.
