Position Summary:

The Visual Inspector III conducts independent visual examinations and evaluates materials, welds, and components to determine conformity with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. The role involves interpreting inspection procedures, recording detailed results, and preparing technically accurate reports. The inspector is expected to identify discontinuities, determine acceptability within defined criteria, and assist in training Level I personnel. This position supports inspection activities primarily in petrochemical and industrial environments and requires strong knowledge of inspection techniques, documentation practices, and quality assurance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards, as directed by the client.
  • Submit technically accurate inspection reports documenting equipment condition.
  • Provide technical recommendations to clients for repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment to ensure safe operation within stated parameters and durations specified by the client.
  • Provide technical input related to welding and metallurgical issues as required.
  • Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
  • Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in site safety initiatives.
  • Travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Certification to American Petroleum Institute standards API 510 and API 570.
  • Additional API 653 or CWI certification is considered a plus.
  • In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
  • Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.

Requirements:

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience or a minimum of two (2) years of on-site experience.
  • Based in Longview, TX or the surrounding area.
