Position Summary:
The UT Level II Technician is responsible for performing ultrasonic testing (UT) inspections in a shop environment supporting industries such as aerospace, FAA, construction, oil & gas manufacturing, and the Department of Defense (DoD). The role requires strong technical competency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ultrasonic testing (UT) inspections in accordance with applicable standards and procedures
- Analyze inspection information and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members
- Maintain confidentiality and professional workplace conduct
- Prioritize and organize work activities efficiently
- Adapt to changing work environments and operational requirements
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and thoroughness in inspection activities
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use safety equipment and materials
- Work collaboratively with employees, supervisors, and clients in a shop environment
Qualifications:
- Prior certification or documented experience as an NDE Level II UT Technician
- Minimum 900 hours of Level II UT experience
- Experience meeting ASNT-TC-1A or NAS 410 requirements
- Aerospace inspection experience considered a strong advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude and professional work ethic
Requirements:
- Ability to work in an in-house plant/shop environment
- Ability to work around NDT inspection equipment, forklifts, and elevated noise levels
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Adequate speech, hearing, and vision capabilities to conduct inspections and communicate effectively
- Ability to work professionally with fellow employees and clients
