Position Summary

Lavender International is seeking a motivated and committed Ultrasonics Apprentice to join its growing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team. This 12-month apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to gain industry-recognised qualifications and practical hands-on experience in ultrasonic testing with one of the most respected training providers in the sector. The apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced instructors and technical mentors while working toward a PCN Level 2 certification in Manual Ultrasonic Testing.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing training materials and ensure equipment is functional and ready for use
  • Maintain accurate training and examination records aligned with BINDT and client standards
  • Support instructors during both theoretical and practical training sessions
  • Perform calibration and assist in maintaining practical training environments
  • Monitor training inventory and ensure all learning areas remain clean and organised
  • Assist with invigilation and marking of PCN exams in line with CP/09 and CP/22 guidelines
  • Maintain current personal certifications and relevant skills for the role

  • Support other duties as appropriate to the position
  • Adhere to all Lavender International quality, safety, and operational procedures
  • Participate in development opportunities to enhance technical and instructional abilities
  • Attend internal and external training courses as needed
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and teamwork across all responsibilities

Essential Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid IT skills and familiarity with basic software applications
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable work ethic
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within the UK and abroad
  • Sound foundational knowledge of English and mathematics
  • Confidence in presenting and speaking within group settings

Desirable Qualifications

  • GCSEs (Grade A*–C / 9–4) in Maths and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
