Position Summary:

The Technician is responsible for carrying out routine laboratory and sample preparation tasks in accordance with established guidelines, priorities, and safety standards. Based at Wingfield, Adelaide, the technician supports daily laboratory operations by preparing samples, conducting routine test work, and operating metallurgical equipment.
Depending on experience, applicants may also be considered for the Crushing Plant Technician role, which includes additional responsibilities in advanced sample preparation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technician Responsibilities
    • Prepare samples by sorting, crushing, screening, and pulverising material.
    • Perform routine laboratory test work in line with established procedures and priorities.
    • Operate general metallurgical and laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Crushing Plant Technician Responsibilities (where applicable)
    • Crush and grind mineral, rock, and soil samples to required particle sizes using crushing and milling equipment.
    • Conduct sample screening using sieves and shaker tables to produce size fractions.
    • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transfer samples between processing areas.
    • Maintain and calibrate equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and Bureau Veritas quality protocols.
    • Document all sample preparation activities and maintain accurate records.
    • Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to meet quality specifications and turnaround times.
    • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Commitment to attending assigned rostered shifts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 20 kg.
  • Consistent ability to maintain high-quality work while achieving daily production targets.
  • Adherence to all site-specific and Bureau Veritas QHSE policies.
  • Previous experience in a metallurgical processing facility is highly desirable.

Roster Details:

  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Afternoon Shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm
