Technical Officer

Position Summary:

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Technical Officer to join Warringtonfire, part of the Element Group, at its new state-of-the-art fire resistance testing facility—one of the largest and most advanced of its kind worldwide. The role involves working with clients, conducting fire resistance tests, preparing reports, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with clients to understand requirements, provide quotations and contracts, and ensure all necessary product and specimen information is received.
• Conduct tests in line with relevant standards and approved procedures.
• Prepare detailed test reports in compliance with applicable standards and the quality manual.
• Collaborate with technician teams to ensure test preparation and execution meet specifications and deadlines.
• Manage and deliver specific projects, including costing, organizing, and completing them to client requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Higher education qualification in a scientific or engineering field preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction materials and their applications; experience in the construction industry beneficial but not essential.
• Strong IT skills, including Word and Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD desirable.
• Effective decision-making and practical problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to learn quickly and develop expertise.
