Static Equipment Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Static Equipment Engineer to support our Projects and Operations organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of engineering work related to static equipment, and providing technical expertise to root cause failure analysis. The role also involves supporting technical evaluations to address issues with equipment and system design, operation and maintenance, and coordinating communication between different stakeholders in the Projects and Operations organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pertinent engineering expertise to Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Review project and contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications, Design Practices, Static Equipment Toolkit guidance, and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested.
- Coordinate communication between different stakeholders in the Projects and Operations organization.
- Support functional initiatives and maintain discipline documentation pertinent to company facilities.
- Provide technical mentorship to early-career professionals, with an emphasis on areas of identified skill gaps.
- Participate in internal networks through which their capabilities can be disseminated to the benefit of others.
- Maintain current knowledge and grow the discipline's technical expertise in pertinent technologies on a continuous basis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from a recognized university with a GPA of 6.0 & Above.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in static equipment engineering in the oil & gas industry.
- Broad knowledge of industry design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria, including ASME Code Section VIII, Divisions 1 and 2, API 660, 661, 662, 620, 650, and TEMA.
- Experience with equipment materials, mechanical properties, NACE, API 934, 938, 941, and vessel and heat exchanger design tools such as PV Elite, Nozzle Pro, and Compress.
- Experience in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations.
- Preferred knowledge of API 510, 653, 579, and NBIC, degradation mechanisms for common materials of construction used in equipment, and piping design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required, both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Flexible to work in shifts.
