Job Summary:
As a Rope Access Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe execution of work at elevated locations using rope access techniques. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing safety practices, performing rope access and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) tasks, and adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for maintaining overall safe rope access practices at the work site.
- Designate hazard zones and establish safe areas for the implementation of safety protocols.
- Ensure the implementation and execution of all required safe work practices throughout shifts.
- Verify the qualifications of all rope access personnel and ensure adherence to Rope Access standards.
- Complete safe work permits and ensure that all personnel meet or exceed minimum requirements.
- Conduct inspections of rope equipment before and after each work shift.
- Perform Level I or 2 rope access duties as necessary to ensure the delivery of quality services.
- Undertake Nondestructive Testing when needed to ensure the completion of high-quality services.
- Carry out other assignments as directed by the Company.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation.
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) TSA background identification card.
- Capable of passing Fit for Duty Testing and adhering to Drug/Alcohol policies/procedures.
- SPRAT certified Rope Access Technician.
Required Experience:
- Experience commensurate with SPRAT requirements.
- Preferred Qualification & Experience:
- Industry credentials and certifications in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) per CP-189 or SNT-TC-1A written training and certification programs.
- ASNT or ACCP credentials and certifications.
- Completion of an industrial radiation safety course.
- Additional credentials or certifications from recognized inspection organizations.
