Position Summary:

The Rope Access Level 3 Technician is responsible for leading rope access operations and performing a variety of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques on components, pipework, and structural assemblies. The role ensures all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Oceaneering’s procedures and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct rope access teams to ensure safe and efficient operations in line with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Carry out Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant inspections in accordance with approved methods and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working environments for both rope access and NDT activities.
  • Perform function tests on NDT equipment and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Evaluate and interpret inspection results in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate inspection reports, noting any limitations or restrictions.
  • Maintain and certify rope access equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and inspection requirements.
  • Participate in technical forums and knowledge-sharing sessions to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all documentation and work packs are accurately completed and submitted on project completion.
  • Adhere to Oceaneering’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • IRATA Level 3 certification.
  • PCN Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing (Welds).
  • PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
  • PCN Level 2 in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT).
  • Valid First Aid certification.
  • Valid full UK driving license and passport.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desired Qualifications:

  • GCSE/Standard Grade pass in English, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Offshore Survival and MIST certifications.
  • Fit to Train medical clearance.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a flexible, team-oriented approach.
  • Eye test certification for visual acuity.
