Position Summary:
TEAM, Inc. is seeking a Rope Access Level III NDT Technician to join our field services team. This role is responsible for executing rope access operations and NDT inspections in difficult-to-access industrial environments. The technician will utilize industrial rope access methods to perform inspection, maintenance, and other technical tasks while adhering to the highest safety standards. Responsibilities also include rescue operations, report preparation, and mentoring of less experienced rope access personnel.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company, customer, and legal safety standards, promptly addressing potential hazards.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures (OSHA, site-specific, and TEAM standards).
- Carry out rope access tasks under the guidance of the Rope Access Supervisor.
- Perform NDT/NDE inspections in accordance with certification level and company procedures.
- Participate in work permitting, job hazard analyses, and pre-job safety briefings.
- Inspect, verify, and maintain rope access systems and equipment before use.
- Maintain proficiency in rescue techniques and actively assist in rescue operations as required.
- Participate in mandatory rope access certification sessions and maintain compliance with TEAM’s Rope Access Code of Practice.
- Support reporting, documentation, and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- IRATA or SPRAT Rope Access Certification required.
- NDT/NDE certification(s) preferred (e.g., PT, MT, UT, RT, VT).
- Willingness to travel frequently for field assignments.
- Strong capacity to work at height with respect for safety standards.
Work Conditions:
- Outdoor fieldwork in plant or industrial settings with varying weather conditions.
- Frequent interaction with supervisors, client personnel, and team members.
- Work around heavy machinery, production equipment, and elevated noise levels.
- May work at multiple job sites in a single day; must tolerate climate variations.
- Extended travel out of town may be required.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and handle inspection equipment (up to ~50 lbs.).
- Physically capable of climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and working at heights exceeding 100 ft.
- Comfortable working extended hours and standing for long periods.
- Ability to work in extreme heat/cold and near industrial hazards.
- Adequate speech, hearing, and vision to communicate and conduct inspections effectively.
- Strong focus, multitasking ability, and responsible behavior in high-risk environments.
