Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Set up and calibrate equipment.
- Conduct tests with appropriate NDT technique.
- Interpret, evaluate and document results.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the camera, cranks, guide tubes and proper use of collimaters/survey meters, dosimitry and limitations of the method in which certified.
- Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment as necessary and where applicable.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Obtain and analyze information skillfully.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or fabrication yard atmosphere.
- Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and clients.
- Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Working in remote areas
- Must be physically fit and able to carry 50 lbs frequently
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May be at more than one jobsite in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
- Call out work required, nights, weekends and holidays
- May be required to work extended hours as needed over 8 hrs per day, not to exceed 16hrs in any shift.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Completion of an approved 40 Hr. Radiation Safety Program.
- Completion of approved 80 Hr. RT Level I & II Training.
- Previous RT level II Certification or the ability to certify.
- Texas Industrial Radiographer Certification or equivalent.
