Position Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating with internal departments on quality-related matters and ensuring that inspection processes meet aerospace standards and customer requirements. The role involves preparing inspection plans, conducting in-process and final inspections, and managing quality documentation. The candidate will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant standards such as AS9100 and AS9102.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal departments on quality-related issues
- Prepare new inspection plans
- Conduct in-process inspections
- Perform final inspections of parts
- Prepare FAIR packs in line with AS9102 and customer requirements
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Attend internal quality meetings as required
- Organize and maintain proper filing of quality documents
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Release products on EFACS and generate release documentation
- Verify skill matrices before assigning tasks to employees
Qualifications
- BE in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (minimum 3 years of experience)
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the aerospace sector
- Experience in all aspects of inspection methods
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and EFACS
- Knowledge of AS9100 standards
- Knowledge of First Article Inspection as per AS9102
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Capability to prepare quality plans
- Strong communication skills
- Basic awareness of EMS, ERT, First Aid, and applicable OCPs
- Willingness to acquire enhanced inspection skills
