Position Summary
TEAM Inc. is seeking a qualified Phased Array Technician to independently perform advanced nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections utilizing Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and other techniques. The successful candidate will identify corrosion, defects, and structural inconsistencies in critical industrial equipment in accordance with written procedures and client specifications.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate inspection results to both clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform NDT inspections using advanced techniques (PAUT, CR, DR, ET) in field and plant environments
- Interpret and report test results clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner
- Maintain NDT certifications and operate equipment per company and industry standards
- Adhere to TEAM’s Core Values and safety-first culture
- Supervise and mentor Apprentice-level technicians on job sites
- Communicate inspection procedures and results effectively to clients and team members
- Ensure compliance with customer safety regulations, site-specific procedures, and all relevant codes and standards
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of NDT experience in a certified capacity, including at least one advanced method (e.g., PAUT, CR, DR, ET)
- Certified to Level II in at least one advanced method
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and computer-based reporting systems
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively in English
- Willingness and ability to travel (0–75%) as needed
- Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
Working Conditions
- Based at a TEAM branch or assigned site location
- Indoor and outdoor work in various industrial environments, including refineries and power plants
- Exposure to high noise levels and production equipment
- Regular interaction with team members, site personnel, and clients
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is mandatory
- May work at multiple sites in a day and in varying weather conditions
- Occasional out-of-town travel required
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Capable of walking, climbing, and accessing elevated platforms (stairs/ladders)
- Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities (with or without accommodations)
- Manual dexterity for handling instruments, writing reports, and computer tasks
- Ability to focus for long durations and multitask in dynamic work settings
- Physically fit to perform duties in confined spaces or elevated locations
- Professional demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills
