Position Summary
The Phased Array NDT Technician (Level II) is responsible for performing advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) techniques in accordance with SNT-TC-1A standards. This role involves setting up, calibrating, and operating NDT equipment, interpreting inspection results, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. The technician works independently with minimal supervision and may guide Level I or trainee personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Sets up and calibrates PAUT equipment as per technical procedures.
- Conducts inspections using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing, documenting and interpreting results accurately.
- Reviews and interprets specifications, codes, and standards to ensure inspection compliance.
- Directs and supports Level I technicians and trainees in the performance of NDT tasks.
- Resolves inspection-related issues efficiently and communicates findings effectively.
- Ensures test results and numerical data are documented clearly and professionally.
- Maintains safe work practices and uses all required personal protective equipment.
- Promotes quality assurance and ensures inspection processes meet required standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized NDT technical training program in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, specifically covering Phased Array (PAUT).
- Prior certification as a Level II PAUT technician, or sufficient field experience as a Level I technician to qualify for Level II certification.
- Experience with QUPA is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Possession of a TWIC card and a valid driver’s license.
