Position Summary

Acuren is seeking experienced Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Technicians to perform advanced nondestructive inspections at various client sites. This role requires travel and fieldwork across the southeastern U.S. Candidates should be capable of developing, executing, and interpreting PAUT and related NDT inspections in accordance with industry codes and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct NDT inspections using PAUT, UTPA, UT, and other methods as certified
  • Develop and validate inspection techniques, procedures, and tools for various components and materials
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes (ASME, API) and client safety and quality standards
  • Perform site walkdowns, review asset documentation, and support integrity assessments
  • Analyze inspection results and prepare detailed project reports and recommendations
  • Collaborate with clients on scheduling, risk management, and technical solutions
  • Supervise and train junior personnel when applicable
  • Coordinate with third-party certifying agents for technique and procedure approvals
  • Maintain and operate advanced NDT equipment and related software
  • Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (some college or technical training preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in NDT, with strong background in PAUT/UTPA
  • Current certifications in applicable NDT methods (e.g., PAUT, UT, UTPA, CR, DR)
  • Familiarity with ASME and API codes and industry QA/QC standards
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret inspection data accurately
  • Supervisory or lead experience is an asset
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Proficient with digital NDT tools and reporting software

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in various environments including outdoor, chemical, and industrial facilities
  • Travel required on a project/callout basis
  • Exposure to heat, cold, heights, and confined spaces
  • Must be able to wear full PPE including respiratory protection

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent kneeling, bending, climbing, reaching, and crawling
  • Capable of extended periods of standing, walking, or driving between job sites
