Position Summary:
MISTRAS Group is seeking a qualified and experienced PAUT Technician to perform advanced ultrasonic inspections in a variety of field environments. This full-time role involves setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting phased array, and documenting inspection results according to industry standards. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) methods and be capable of mentoring junior technicians. Travel may be required based on project location and client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) equipment.
- Conduct inspections using approved NDT techniques, with a focus on phased array technology.
- Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results with clarity and precision.
- Maintain familiarity with method limitations and ensure the accuracy of inspections.
- Supervise and guide trainees and Level I personnel during testing procedures.
- Follow all applicable codes, standards, and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure all equipment and testing procedures meet quality and safety standards.
- Promote and enforce safety procedures and proper equipment use.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements for PAUT.
- TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 55 pounds.

- Proven experience in PAUT methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to analyze data and resolve issues efficiently.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- High level of organization and planning abilities.
- Adaptability in changing environments and during unexpected events or delays.
- Dependability and punctuality; follows directions and takes initiative to improve performance.
- Commitment to quality and safety in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
