Position Summary:-
Acuren is seeking a PAUT/QUPA Technician for an embedded role in Monaca, Pennsylvania. The technician is responsible for conducting specialized non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections, evaluating inspection results, supporting integrity assessments, and preparing project documentation.
The role requires a strong technical background in NDT, knowledge of applicable industry requirements, and the ability to work safely while supporting client inspection needs.
Responsibilities:-
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities and defects using applicable NDT inspection methods.
- Establish techniques for the proper examination of objects under inspection while adhering to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications and standards and evaluate inspection results.
- Identify, track, manage, and mitigate risks associated with specific client engagements and escalate issues when necessary.
- Review asset documentation and operational data, including inspection data, monitoring, and auditing associated NDE activities.
- Complete integrity assessments, including physical site walkdowns when required.
- Prepare project reports containing descriptions of work performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Perform specialized inspections.
- Develop techniques for approval by customer certifying agents.
- Instruct and supervise others when required.
- Maintain knowledge of ASME and API requirements and procedures applicable to evaluating equipment for continued serviceability.
- Apply knowledge of industry health and safety policies and procedures.
- Interface with customers regarding schedules and problem-solving.
- Use applicable software and computer-related equipment.
- Perform other work duties as assigned.
Qualifications:-
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some college education is preferred.
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures, including UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, and related methods.
- Minimum five years of experience in NDT methods and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks effectively and interpret inspection results.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
Requirements:-
- Current NDT certifications in applicable methods, including UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, or related methods.
- Ability to establish NDT examination techniques and obtain customer certifying-agent approval where required.
- Ability to apply applicable specifications, standards, and testing criteria.
- Ability to work in an outside environment involving continuous physical effort and exposure to multiple environmental conditions.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities including reaching, kneeling, crawling, bending, and crouching.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, or drive as required by the role.
