PAUT Operator

Position Summary:

The PAUT Operator will be responsible for performing advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and other advanced NDT techniques in accordance with approved procedures, project requirements, and safety standards. The role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance in line with Bureau Veritas’ global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Advanced NDT activities such as Tube Inspection, Tank Floor Inspection, and Long and Short-Range Guided Wave Testing in accordance with approved procedures.
• Identify, select, and prepare appropriate probes, accessories, and testing setups based on the scope and application.
• Interpret PAUT data accurately, ensuring reliable results and avoiding false indications.
• Prepare comprehensive final inspection reports following procedural and client requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to advanced NDT equipment to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Conduct inspection activities efficiently, considering project scope, site conditions, and resource utilization to minimize delays and wastage.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure the use of appropriate protective equipment and safety devices during testing.
• Participate actively in daily toolbox talks and adhere to site coordinator and crew leader instructions.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and operational condition, ensuring proper housekeeping standards.
• Support fellow team members by promoting a strong safety culture and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certified and competent in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) with experience in advanced NDT techniques.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting and maintenance of advanced NDT equipment.
• Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and procedural requirements for NDT operations.
• Proven ability to interpret and report inspection data accurately.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental protection, and quality control.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ensure personal and co-worker safety at all times and never compromise safety to complete a task.
• Attend mandatory safety briefings and participate in ongoing training programs as required.
• Report unsafe practices, hazards, or incidents immediately to supervisors or safety coordinators.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in work areas and ensure the correct use of all tools and safety equipment.
