NDT Operations Manager

Position Summary:

• Aegeus Inspections is seeking an Operations Manager in Syracuse, New York, to support business growth and oversee daily field office operations. The role involves managing safety, quality, productivity, customer relationships, and staff development while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. The Operations Manager will also support NDT field operations, contribute to client acquisition and service expansion, and work closely with the Regional Manager to achieve operational and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise, assign, direct, coordinate, and control field office operations to meet client requirements and performance targets.
• Support the Regional Manager in achieving safety, quality, productivity, and other operational goals.
• Develop client relationships and pursue growth opportunities, including service line expansion, new client acquisition, and increased business with existing customers.
• Oversee technician development and training to meet current and future operational requirements.
• Perform inspections for clients as required.
• Manage relationships with on-site client personnel and provide ongoing customer support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and required maintenance inspections.
• Coordinate with management, technical personnel, other departments, and contractors to resolve issues and support operational activities.
• Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures as required.
• Ensure field office employees receive appropriate training and develop the skills needed to support operational performance and business growth.
• Maintain knowledge of radiography operations and ensure activities comply with applicable regulations and procedures.
• Provide technical support for field operations involving Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT), AWS, and IRRSP, as needed.
• Respond to customer enquiries about products, pricing, and availability.
• Contact prospective and existing customers to understand their needs and explain relevant services.
• Identify potential customers through business directories, client referrals, professional organisations, trade shows, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Follow up with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve issues and provide ongoing support.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Senior Regional Operations Manager.
• Supervisory Responsibilities
• Recruit, select, orient, and train employees to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment by ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Coach, counsel, and manage employee performance in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Review, validate, and approve employee timesheets and reports.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Five or more years of progressive supervisory experience preferred.
• At least three years of experience performing NDT inspections, preferably in Radiographic Testing (RT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Visual Testing (VT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with company safety policies and procedures and the ability to implement them effectively.

Certifications and Licences

• Ability to maintain Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT) certifications.
• Must meet company requirements for operating a company vehicle and qualify for coverage under the company's vehicle insurance programme.
