Position Summary:

The NDT Technician is responsible for carrying out non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on components requiring examination using the most effective inspection techniques. The role involves ensuring inspections are performed in accordance with applicable specifications, evaluating test results, producing detailed reports, maintaining safety standards, and complying with Oceaneering’s Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Integrated Management Systems. The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the most effective NDT techniques on components requiring inspection.
  • Ensure the work area is safe before conducting NDT activities.
  • Perform risk assessments and Take II assessments as required.
  • Conduct NDT equipment function tests according to procedures and report faulty equipment to supervision.
  • Ensure inspections are performed within the parameters of applicable specifications.
  • Evaluate test results in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Produce clear and concise reports detailing inspection methods, results, findings, limitations, and test restrictions where applicable.
  • Communicate any areas of high density to supervision.
  • Complete inspection work efficiently and within required deadlines while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Oceaneering operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.
  • Comply with Company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
  • Support environmental initiatives by eliminating waste, promoting environmentally friendly practices, and contributing to continuous environmental improvement.
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervision or management.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT 3.1)
  • PCN/SNT Level 2 Dye Penetrant Testing (Liquid Penetrant)
  • PCN/SNT Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications:

  • PCN Level 2 Ultrasonics 3.2
  • SNT Level 2 Thickness, Lamination, and Corrosion Monitoring
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
  • Hardness Testing
  • GCSE/Standard Grade pass in English, Mathematics, and Science
