Position Summary:

Argyll Ruane is seeking a skilled Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Trainer to deliver high-quality training across various NDT disciplines. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and supporting the next generation of NDT professionals through engaging instruction, practical demonstrations, and ongoing mentorship.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a respected, industry-leading training organization dedicated to advancing safety, quality, and professional competence in the NDT sector. The role also involves collaboration with internal trainers, examination staff, and clients to ensure the highest standards of technical excellence and learning delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver NDT training sessions to a high standard, ensuring alignment with industry and awarding body requirements.
  • Develop, plan, and deliver engaging learning programs, including preparing and maintaining training materials.
  • Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and invigilate examinations in line with BINDT and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate student training records and provide feedback on all learning activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external NDT professionals to integrate current industry practices into training content.
  • Prepare, calibrate, and master examination specimens as required.
  • Pursue continuous professional development, maintaining all relevant certifications and attending courses to enhance instructional and technical skills.
  • Contribute to departmental development through knowledge sharing, cross-training, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • PCN Level 2 certification in at least two NDT methods (Level 2 in a volumetric method preferred).
  • Minimum five years of industrial experience as an NDT Technician.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the confidence to lead classroom sessions.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of NDT principles and the ability to address complex student questions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good written communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and certification (including PCN Level 3 or ASNT schemes).
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
