NDT Trainee

Position Summary

MISTRAS Group is seeking motivated individuals to join as NDT Trainees. This entry-level position supports Level II and Level III NDT Technicians with inspection tasks while developing skills and gaining hands-on experience in nondestructive testing. The role is ideal for individuals seeking a career in industrial inspection and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Level II/III technicians with NDT equipment setup and operation.
• Perform basic maintenance and support tasks as directed.
• Prep, wash, unpack, and pack parts for inspection.
• Review work order instructions and assist in maintaining compliance with specifications.
• Monitor and request inventory supplies for NDT operations.
• Document services provided and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
• Operate only under the direct supervision of certified Level II or higher technicians.
• Participate in all required training related to safety, quality systems, and process improvement.
• Perform additional qualified duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to schedule changes and short-notice work.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Word, data entry, spreadsheets).
• Must pass a vision and color eye exam.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift and carry 20–50 pounds.
• Work in noisy plant/shop environments around production machinery.
• Ability to work with water under changing temperature conditions.
• Must wear required PPE for personal safety.
• Capable of clear communication (speech and hearing) with or without reasonable accommodation.
