Position Summary
MISTRAS Group is seeking motivated individuals to join as NDT Trainees. This entry-level position supports Level II and Level III NDT Technicians with inspection tasks while developing skills and gaining hands-on experience in nondestructive testing. The role is ideal for individuals seeking a career in industrial inspection and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Level II/III technicians with NDT equipment setup and operation.
- Perform basic maintenance and support tasks as directed.
- Prep, wash, unpack, and pack parts for inspection.
- Review work order instructions and assist in maintaining compliance with specifications.
- Monitor and request inventory supplies for NDT operations.
- Document services provided and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Follow company policies, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Operate only under the direct supervision of certified Level II or higher technicians.
- Participate in all required training related to safety, quality systems, and process improvement.
- Perform additional qualified duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude.
- Ability to follow precise instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and able to adapt to schedule changes and short-notice work.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Word, data entry, spreadsheets).
- Must pass a vision and color eye exam.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 20–50 pounds.
- Work in noisy plant/shop environments around production machinery.
- Ability to work with water under changing temperature conditions.
- Must wear required PPE for personal safety.
- Capable of clear communication (speech and hearing) with or without reasonable accommodation.
