Position Summary:

The NDT Technician Trainee is responsible for performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques on components, pipework, and structural assemblies to assess compliance with applicable specifications and acceptance criteria. The role involves undertaking NDT training in accordance with SNT-TC-1A requirements, conducting inspections, evaluating test results, producing inspection reports, and ensuring all activities are performed safely and in compliance with company, client, and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform Visual Testing (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET) on components requiring inspection.
  • Ensure work areas are safe before conducting NDT activities.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Take 2 assessments as required.
  • Carry out inspections within the parameters of applicable specifications.
  • Perform routine equipment and consumable function tests to verify proper operation and report any issues to supervision.
  • Evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports detailing inspection methods, results, findings, limitations, and test restrictions where applicable.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Perform duties in accordance with company and client operating procedures, specifications, and requirements.
  • Execute work in compliance with Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality (HSSEQ) Management Systems.
  • Carry out duties in alignment with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives by minimizing waste, promoting environmentally friendly practices, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform additional duties of a reasonable nature as required by management.

Non-Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with additional duties as directed by management.
  • Participate in specific projects assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • NDT training undertaken during the secondment period in accordance with SNT-TC-1A requirements.
  • Progression to SNT Level II upon satisfactory completion of on-site experience.
  • NDT Training Areas
  • Visual Testing (VT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Radiographic Testing / Basic Radiation (RT)
  • Eddy Current Testing (ET) following successful completion of Level II VT, UT, MT, PT, and RT training
  • IRATA Rope Access Level 1 Training (site-specific requirement)

Requirements:

  • This role is specifically for UAE Nationals with a Family Book.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and other Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible and collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are preferred.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards.
