Position Summary:
Acuren is currently recruiting for Multi-Certified NDT Level II Technicians with expertise in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT). This unique opportunity offers a nested position with a client in Joliet, IL. The NDT Level II Technician will be responsible for setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting tests, and interpreting results to ensure the quality and integrity of materials and components. This role requires strong technical skills in multiple NDT methods and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment for testing and inspection purposes.
- Conduct NDT inspections to detect discontinuities (defects) and ensure material quality, using MT, PT, and UTT methods.
- Establish and apply appropriate techniques for the examination of materials and components, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Interpret test results, including radiographs, digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
- Organize and report detailed test results for client review.
- Perform specialized inspections as needed.
- Instruct and supervise junior personnel when necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.
- Must hold Level II certifications in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT).
- Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures, with proven ability to perform assigned tasks and interpret results.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment and proficiency in report writing.
- Previous experience working in a similar role is highly desirable.
