Position Summary:-

The NDT Technician performs Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques on components, pipework, and structural assemblies to assess compliance with applicable specifications and acceptance criteria.

The position involves undertaking Visual Testing (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET). NDT training is undertaken during the secondment period in accordance with SNT-TC-1A requirements, with advancement to SNT Level II following satisfactory completion of on-site experience.

The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities:-

  • Undertake Visual Testing (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET) on components requiring inspection.
  • Ensure that the work area is safe for carrying out NDT activities.
  • Undertake Risk Assessments and Take 2 as required.
  • Ensure inspections are performed within the parameters of the applicable specification.
  • Perform routine equipment and consumable function tests to ensure equipment and consumables are in good working order.
  • Report any equipment or consumable issues directly to supervision.
  • Evaluate test results in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Produce clear and concise reports detailing the methods used, inspection results, findings, limitations, and applicable test restrictions.
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines and adjust priorities when required.
  • Perform work in accordance with Oceaneering and client operating procedures, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Undertake other duties of a reasonable nature as required by Oceaneering Management.
  • Assist with additional duties as directed by Oceaneering Management.
  • Undertake specific projects as directed by Oceaneering Management.
  • Ensure full understanding of and adherence to Oceaneering and client safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry out all duties in compliance with Oceaneering's Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality (HSSEQ) Management Systems.
  • Execute assigned tasks with diligence and in alignment with the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Contribute to environmental sustainability by minimizing waste, promoting environmentally friendly materials and practices, and supporting continuous environmental improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:-

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Requirements:-

  • The role is specifically for UAE Nationals with a Family Book.
  • The position would suit someone who has recently completed a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • A valid full UAE driving license is desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and other Windows-based applications.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are preferred.
  • A flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to foster a team-oriented mindset for effective problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

NDT Training and Certification:-

NDT training is undertaken during the secondment period in accordance with SNT-TC-1A requirements. Advancement to SNT Level II follows satisfactory completion of on-site experience.

Training includes:

  • Visual Testing (VT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Radiographic Testing/Basic Radiation (RT)
  • Eddy Current Testing (ET), progressing upon satisfactory completion of Level II VT, UT, MT, PT, and RT training
  • IRATA Rope Access Level 1 Training, as a site-specific requirement
