Position Summary:
Acuren is seeking an experienced NDT Specialist/Project Lead for operations in Birmingham, AL, and surrounding areas. This is a callout/travel position. The Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing on-site field operations, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while leading Acuren crews working on various projects. The role will focus on maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring operational efficiency, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement in all aspects of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Interface daily with clients to discuss work priorities, progress, and project deliverables.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating project activities to ensure timely completion.
- Actively participate in client programs, planning, and strategic sessions.
- Collaborate closely with clients to identify and eliminate obstacles to project success.
- Lead client safety initiatives, participate in incident investigations, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure that employees and site leads are provided with the tools, training, and resources needed to perform their jobs efficiently.
- Evaluate departments to identify areas where efficiency, quality, production, and safety can be improved.
- Gather feedback from employees to ensure continuous improvement of programs and practices.
- Lead project and site safety objectives, ensuring all employees adhere to safety guidelines.
- Participate in the performance management and development of site employees.
- Act as the point of contact for client relations, maintaining strong communication and addressing concerns as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in NDT or a related field.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Certification or previous certification in NDT methods with a working knowledge of each method’s strengths and limitations.
- Experience in quality management and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with current industry codes, standards, and procedures necessary for conducting inspections and interpreting results.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to lead and mentor teams, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the NDT industry.
- Previous leadership experience is an asset.
- Certified or previously certified in NDT methods (certifications in methods such as RT, UT, PT, MT, etc., are highly preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of safety standards, quality control, and relevant industry regulations.
- Ability to manage client relationships effectively and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
