Position Summary:-
Acuren Inspection is seeking a qualified NDT Specialist to support inspection operations in Bellingham, Washington. The NDT Specialist is responsible for technical evaluation and inspection activities, client and customer service, personnel management, and effective communication.
The role involves conducting NDT examinations, evaluating inspection results, preparing integrity assessments and project reports, and supporting client engagements. Candidates with multiple NDT certifications in RT, MT, PT, UT, PMI, or VT are considered strong assets. A valid TWIC card is also preferred.
The position is primarily intended for candidates based in Bellingham, Washington, or the surrounding area, as well as individuals willing to relocate.
Responsibilities:-
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using applicable NDT methods.
- Establish techniques for the proper examination of objects under inspection while ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications and standards and evaluate inspection results.
- Identify, track, manage, and mitigate risks associated with specific client engagements and escalate issues when necessary.
- Review asset documentation and operational data, including inspection data, monitoring, and auditing associated with NDE activities.
- Complete integrity assessments, including physical site walkdowns when required.
- Prepare project reports containing descriptions of work performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Perform specialized inspections.
- Develop techniques for approval by customer certifying agents.
- Instruct and supervise other personnel when required.
- Apply knowledge of ASME and API requirements and procedures related to evaluating applicable equipment for continued serviceability.
- Follow applicable industry health and safety policies and procedures.
- Interface with customers regarding schedules and problem-solving.
- Use applicable software and computer-related equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:-
Education & Experience:-
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some college is preferred.
- Technical background in NDT and related procedures.
- Minimum of five years of experience in NDT.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- NDT Certifications & Technical Skills
- Current NDT certifications in applicable methods, including UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, or other relevant methods, are required.
- Multi-certification in RT, MT, PT, UT, PMI, or VT is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of ASME and API requirements and procedures pertaining to applicable equipment evaluation.
- Ability to develop inspection techniques for customer approval.
- Ability to use applicable software and computer-related equipment.
- Knowledge of industry health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding schedules and problem-solving.
Requirements:-
- Current NDT certifications in applicable methods are required.
- Five years of experience in a technical NDT background is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Candidates should be based in Bellingham, Washington, or the surrounding area, or be willing to relocate.
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities including reaching, kneeling, crawling, bending, and crouching.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and drive as required.
- Ability to work in outside environments with continuous physical effort and exposure to various environmental conditions.
