Position Summary:

The Aviation NDT Department Manager / Accountable Manager will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and promoting the aviation NDT business across the United States. This role includes leadership of personnel, management of operations, customer relationship development, and oversight of quality and safety practices. The position requires a balance of office-based management and field engagement, ensuring operational excellence and business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide management control over NDT operations within the assigned area.
  • Oversee personnel and equipment, including hiring and termination (subject to upper management approval).
  • Manage quality, safety, and financial performance of the department.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, including setting up inspections and follow-ups.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and availability of equipment.
  • Review, complete, and maintain technical reports.
  • Act as a knowledgeable point of contact for customers.
  • Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and site personnel as a representative of ATS.
  • Coordinate with internal ATS teams to support operations and project execution.
  • Support personnel development including hiring, training, and certification.
  • Manage scheduling and account management activities.
  • Spend approximately 50%–75% of time in the office and up to 25% at customer job sites for project support, audits, and client interactions.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience performing NDT in the aerospace market.
  • Documented education, training, and experience in NDT.
  • Experience managing day-to-day operations of an NDT business.
  • Experience overseeing approximately 15 employees.
  • Experience managing Profit and Loss (P&L) for a department.
  • Background in business development, account management, and customer relations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in NDT or a similar industry.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.

Requirements:

  • Experience in ET, RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT inspection methods.
  • Previous NAS-410 certification (Level III certification preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to customer job sites.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
