Position Summary:
Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA) is seeking a Level III NDT Technician – Ultrasonic Testing (UT) ASNT to join its laboratory team in St. Louis, Missouri. This onsite role is responsible for leading, executing, and overseeing nondestructive testing programs, including training, certification management, auditing activities, procedure development, and advanced inspections. The position ensures compliance with ASNT requirements and applicable customer, industry, and government standards while supporting a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee nondestructive testing programs, including training, certification efforts, and auditing activities.
- Develop and approve NDT procedures in accordance with applicable standards and requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to Level I and Level II NDT personnel in Ultrasonic Testing.
- Lead qualification and certification processes for NDT personnel, including developing and administering examinations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of certifications, procedures, and inspection results.
- Perform hands-on NDT inspections at customer sites and within the St. Louis laboratory.
- Conduct complex inspections, interpret results, and make critical acceptance or rejection decisions using advanced NDT equipment and software.
- Ensure all work and materials comply with manufacturer and customer specifications.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality procedures, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Take ownership of personal and job-site safety, including stopping work when unsafe conditions or quality concerns arise.
- Complete pre-job activities such as equipment preparation, job walkdowns, and procedural reviews.
- Conduct post-job reviews, equipment evaluations, and walkdowns for completed and future projects.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation within established deadlines.
- Coordinate multiple projects and support operational priorities as required.
Qualifications:
- ASNT Level III Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification is required.
- Certification in additional NDT methods at Level II and/or Level III is preferred.
- Ability to provide verifiable evidence of certifications, on-the-job training hours, and/or completion of ASNT-recommended training programs.
- Must meet or exceed quality program requirements for applicable NDT work experience and total work experience requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, collaboration, and work prioritization abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, and execute programs effectively.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with basic software applications, Outlook, web-based service literature, and reporting systems.
- Highly motivated, passionate, transparent, and eager to learn.
Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings, including background checks and initial and random drug testing.
- Must be able to work onsite in St. Louis, Missouri.
- Must support a minimum of 40 hours per week.
