NDT Level II Technician

Position Summary:

TEAM Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to independently conduct inspections using a variety of NDT techniques. This position is responsible for identifying corrosion, defects, and other structural anomalies in accordance with specific written criteria. The technician will interpret results, prepare reports, and effectively communicate procedures and findings to customers. Additionally, the technician will support and supervise apprentice-level personnel while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform NDT inspections independently using certified techniques to detect structural anomalies or degradation.
• Interpret test results and generate inspection reports that meet company standards.
• Adhere to all company and customer safety protocols, alerting others to potential hazards.
• Instruct and supervise apprentice-level technicians under the direction of a Senior Technician.
• Maintain current certifications and work towards additional NDT qualifications.
• Assist senior staff in on-site duties, gaining hands-on experience across various NDT methods.
• Safely handle chemicals and operate computerized testing equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure thorough communication and project clarity.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• At least two (2) years of experience as a certified technician in a minimum of two NDT methods.
• Previous Level II certification in at least one method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic mathematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and computer systems.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% as project requirements demand.
• Ability to follow instructions and handle testing chemicals safely.

Work Conditions:

• Based at a branch or client site; fieldwork includes indoor and outdoor environments in industrial settings.
• May be exposed to noise, temperature variations, and working near operating machinery.
• Frequent interaction with crew members, supervisors, and client representatives.
• Daily assignments may include visits to multiple job sites and occasional out-of-town travel.
• Must comply with company safety policies and wear required PPE.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Must be physically capable of walking, climbing, and maneuvering in plant environments.
• Clear speech, vision, and hearing (with or without reasonable accommodation) for effective communication and inspections.
• Strong manual dexterity for handling equipment and reporting tasks.
• Ability to maintain attention to detail and multitask under pressure.
• Capable of navigating ladders and stairwells to access elevated inspection areas.
