Position Summary
The NDT Level II RT Inspector is responsible for performing development and production nondestructive testing activities in support of spaceflight systems, with a primary focus on radiographic inspection of flight-critical metallic and composite hardware and test samples. Working as part of a collaborative NDT team, the role supports part integrity, quality, and lifespan through the application of non-film radiography methods, strict adherence to safety requirements, and accurate documentation and communication of inspection results.

- C-Shift
- Friday – Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- D-Shift
- Friday – Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
- Perform inspections using Digital Radiographic Testing (DRT)
- Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawings or shop work orders
- Perform all required daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks
- Document and organize inspection results
- Interface and communicate with engineers and/or managers to describe inspection results
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Level II experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR)
- Ability to pass Radiographic General and Specific Tests by week 3
- Carded by a state or certifying entity (e.g., ASNT, IRRSP) as a radiographer for X-ray
- Meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Radiography
- 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training
- Qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 with a minimum of 800 documented hours in non-film radiography
- Meet minimum vision requirements:
- Near Vision: 20/25 (Snellen) at 16" or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12”
- Color Perception: Ishihara 14-plate test with at least 12 panels correctly identified
- Familiarity with ASTM standards including E1742, E2445, and E2698
- Experience operating NDT inspection and radiation safety equipment
- Ability to determine optimal inspection parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations
- Experience analyzing inspection data from metallic and composite structures
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts as required
- Ability to lift and transport parts and inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
- Experience working in both laboratory and field inspection environments
Desired
- Strong interest in Eddy Current and Fluorescent Penetrant inspection
- 40 hours of Digital Radiography and/or Computed Radiography training
- Ability to meet NAS-410 training requirements in additional methods such as UT, ET, PT, and MT
- Ability to certify in additional NDT methods per NAS-410
- Training in computed and digital radiography
- Advanced phased array training
- Knowledge of industry NDT standards
- Experience in a production environment, preferably aerospace
- Experience with automated or robotic inspection equipment
- 1+ year of aerospace experience
