Position Summary
The NDT Inspector – Level 3 serves as the senior technical authority overseeing non-destructive testing (NDT) activities across major energy and infrastructure projects, including carbon capture initiatives. This position is responsible for validating NDT procedures, managing complex inspection programs, and ensuring that all testing and quality assurance processes meet project and international standards.
The role demands advanced expertise in NDT methodologies, a strong understanding of metallurgical properties, and experience supervising inspections across supplier, fabrication, and offshore/onshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, review, and approve NDT procedures for project-wide implementation.
- Validate and analyze NDT documentation, results, and technical reports.
- Supervise NDT operations across supplier sites, fabrication yards, and offshore/onshore structures.
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and client representatives to develop and manage inspection and quality control plans.
- Evaluate complex inspection outcomes and provide expert recommendations.
- Monitor the qualification and performance of NDT personnel and ensure proper calibration and use of testing equipment.
- Oversee the application of advanced ultrasonic testing techniques, including AUT, PAUT, and TOFD.
- Ensure adherence to industry codes and standards, including ASME, ISO, API, and ASTM.
- Prepare and issue detailed technical reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and QA documentation for project handovers.
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience in NDT operations involving pipelines, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and structural components.
- In-depth knowledge of metallurgy and weld integrity for carbon steels, stainless steels, nickel alloys, Cr-Mo, and duplex/super duplex steels.
- ISO 9712 Level 3 certification in multiple disciplines (VT, PT, UT, MT, RT).
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced ultrasonic testing methods, including AUT, PAUT, and TOFD.
- Strong familiarity with ASME, ISO, API, and ASTM codes and standards.
- Proven ability to manage documentation, inspection control plans, and technical reviews.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
