Position Summary:
Oceaneering is seeking a qualified NDT Inspector II to support its Integrity Management and Digital Solutions (IMDS) operations. This position involves the inspection of offshore/onshore structures, vessels, pipelines, and their appurtenances in compliance with industry standards such as API RP 2SIM and API RP 2FPS. The role includes hands-on fieldwork, including offshore assignments and time spent in-office compiling inspection reports.
The NDT Inspector II is responsible for performing various inspection methods, collaborating with teams, maintaining inspection data, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be highly adaptable, safety-oriented, and capable of working in demanding offshore environments with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct NDT inspections to identify anomalies, defects, or damage (e.g., cracks, corrosion, pits, incomplete welds).
- Inspect offshore/onshore structures, vessels, and pipelines independently or alongside diving contractors.
- Perform cathodic protection surveys using “drop-cell” techniques.
- Use NDT tools, camera/video equipment, and documentation to record findings.
- Create inspection reports and supplemental sketches/drawings.
- Lead inspection teams where applicable.
- Train and mentor junior inspection staff.
- Operate inspection software (CAIRS) and organize inspection data.
- Spend a minimum of 180 days annually offshore (non-rotational schedule).
- Conduct inspection report preparation while onshore.
- Comply with all company and client health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of NDT-related experience or equivalent education/training.
- Certified in at least one NDT method: ACFM, Eddy Current, VT, PT, MT, UT, or RT.
- Must possess or be eligible for a TWIC card, valid Passport, Safe Gulf, and HUET Water Survival certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in using the IMDS system.
- Strong field troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills.
- Capable of working independently and in team settings.
- Must be able to work in extreme offshore environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Rope Access Certification (IRATA or SPRAT).
- NACE OCAT and ASNT Certifications.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Working Conditions:
Offshore Work — Characterized by:
- Predominantly outdoor work (day and occasional night).
- Exposure to dust, noise (>85 decibels), confined spaces, and elevated heights.
- Travel by vessel or aircraft to offshore locations.
Physical Requirements:
This role is classified as HEAVY work, which includes:
Occasional:
- Lifting 50–100 lbs.
- Crawling, kneeling, lying prone, running, jumping, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
- Wearing PPE for skin and eye protection.
- Differentiating between colors.
Frequent:
- Lifting 25–50 lbs.
- Climbing, squatting, reaching, balancing.
- Wearing PPE for head and hand protection.
- Standing/sitting in various physical postures.
- Operating a motor vehicle.
Constant:
- Lifting 10–20 lbs.
- Standing and walking.
- Wearing PPE for body, vision, and hearing protection.
- Wearing steel/safety-toed boots.
