Position Summary:

The NDT Inspection Engineer is responsible for supporting the technical delivery of all Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (ANDT) techniques in alignment with company procedures. The role involves planning, organizing, supervising, and providing technical support for ANDT/NDT inspection activities across onshore and offshore sites. The engineer ensures competent execution of work scopes, supports site teams, contributes to technical documentation, and assists in developing and validating new technologies and procedures.

Core Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees effective planning and organization of ANDT inspection activities to ensure efficient, competent, and budget-compliant delivery in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensures all ANDT and RRT personnel are appropriately trained and competent.
  • Manages and supports ANDT site teams on a daily basis, maintaining effective interfaces between Bilfinger and the client.
  • Assists in preparing inspection proposals, ANDT CTRs, and CAPEX requirements.
  • Assists with the review and updating of ANDT technical procedures.
  • Supports ANDT technical qualification trials.
  • Provides technical support to all projects, assisting with client integrity challenges and technical queries.
  • Conducts site visits—onshore and offshore—to supervise, audit, and support ANDT/NDT delivery.
  • Supports the development, validation, and implementation of new technology, techniques, and procedures.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Ten years of experience delivering both conventional and advanced NDT methods for in-service and newly fabricated products.
  • ISO 9712 Level 2 UT, PA, and TOFD (minimum).
  • Detailed knowledge of integrity challenges within the renewables and oil & gas sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the advantages and limitations of conventional and advanced NDT methods.
  • HNC or higher qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience organizing and supervising inspection/NDT work scopes.
  • Professional, approachable, proactive, and well-organized.
  • High integrity, authenticity, confidentiality, and transparency.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
