Position Summary:-
Testia SAS, a subsidiary of the Airbus Group, is seeking an NDT Engineer specializing in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Eddy Current Testing (ET) for its Toulouse location in France.
The position is part of the Products & Equipment team and focuses on the development of NDT machine and product solutions. Integrated within the Applications team, the NDT Engineer will work closely with software and mechanical development teams to support the specification and validation of portable and machine-based NDT solutions.
The role involves conducting feasibility studies, investigating the inspectability of new materials, processes, and structures, evaluating emerging technologies, supporting the development of turnkey NDT solutions, and participating in validation, qualification, installation, maintenance, and technical support activities.
Responsibilities:-
- Conduct feasibility trials as part of research and technology (R&T) activities.
- Prepare test reports, manuals, and presentations of test results.
- Perform basic testing activities.
- Conduct technology monitoring and evaluate the capabilities of emerging technologies.
- Perform NDT investigations on new materials, processes, or structures to determine their inspectability based on acceptance criteria and industrial constraints.
- Participate in defining relevant and high-performance turnkey solutions based on analysis of customer requirements.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications.
- Participate in and monitor assembly and installation phases.
- Support solution development and commissioning activities at partner facilities.
- Participate in validation and qualification activities.
- Support the commissioning of solutions at customer sites.
- Participate in maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support to other departments and external customers in France and/or abroad.
- Work closely with software and mechanical development teams on NDT solutions.
Qualifications:-
- Technical education with more than 3 years of industrial experience in NDT.
- Significant experience in conventional Ultrasonic Testing and phased-array/multi-element ultrasonic testing.
- Experience in Eddy Current Testing is an advantage.
- Significant experience in inspection applications involving metallic and composite components and materials.
- Good level of English, both written and spoken.
- Valid Category B driving licence (Permis B).
Requirements:-
- The candidate must have practical industrial experience in NDT.
- Strong technical understanding of conventional and multi-element ultrasonic inspection is required.
- Experience with metallic and composite materials and their inspection applications is required.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills in assessing customer technical requirements.
- The candidate should be capable of proposing solutions and managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks.
- The role requires curiosity, dynamism, autonomy, organization, and rigor.
- Good teamwork and customer relationship skills are required.
- The position involves occasional or extended travel depending on project requirements, in France and/or internationally.
- The position is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract (CDD).
- The position is based at 1 rue Gaye Marie, 31300 Toulouse, France.
- The start date is as soon as possible.
